Oaklands Golf Club is a 6100 yard course that is challenging enough to satisfy the best golfers in the game and yet practical enough that the casual enthusiasts need not plan a two day stay to complete the full 18 holes

Many of the fairways at Oaklands are on the narrow side and water comes into play on a few holes. The most challenging hole is the 195 yard par three 2nd. Driving from an elevated tee with out of bounds to the right, you'll want to lay up but not in the low lying, sometimes water filled depression in front of the green protected by a sand bunker that spans 80% of the front portion of the green along with trees lining each side of the approach to this small elevated green.

Oakland's signature hole is the 11th, a 164 yard par three. Here you must drive down a chute with trees along the left and a steep grade to the right. Surrounded by trees, the green is heavily sloped, making it a difficult target to hit and hold on. Your tee shot must be to the top right of the green, but beware the sand trap strategically placed to catch the slightest mistake. Pin placements near the center of green, count on three putts.

Another plus while at Oaklands is the driving range. It offers a choice of two levels with natural turf, rather than the more common driving mats.
