The first conservation area in Niagara with wheelchair accessible facilities, St. Johns Conservation Area reflects the commitment of the NPCA to provide everyone with the opportunity to experience and appreciate our natural heritage. Located close to urban areas, St. Johns offers an abundance of natural beauty and scenic trails, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy an appreciation for nature.
Wind through the Tulip Tree Trail, Sassafras Trail, Horseshoe Trail, or the St. Johns Ridge Trail and you are sure to be pleased with the fantastic view of the Carolinian forest. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for rare and endangered flora and fauna species!
Nestled in the unique valley of the 12 Mile Creek, this Niagara Escarpment treasure displays many species and wildlife characteristics of the unique Carolinian Zone. View some of the largest Tulip Tree stands in the Niagara Peninsula, and fish for rainbow trout (during season) at the site’s trout pond.
