Niagara entertainment is vibrant and eclectic, offering a variety of performances to suit a wide variety of tastes. 

The Shaw Festival, one of the finest theatre companies in North America, stages ten plays each year that run in repertory during the April to October season.  The Festival performs the works of George Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries that wrote during his lifetime of 1856-1950. 

In addition to the summer program, the Shaw Festival partners with Film Circuit (a branch of the Toronto International Film Festival) to bring lesser-known films and documentaries to the Niagara region over the winter months at a bargain price of $10 per person per film. 

Another favourite among Niagara attractions is Port Colborne’s Showboat Theatre, offering up comedy, drama, mystery and music from June to August.  Many of the performances are held in the round at the intimate Roselawn Centre.

In the nearby community of Fort Erie, Gypsy Theatre offers lively Niagara entertainment for the whole family, while in St. Catharines, Brock University’s Centre for the Arts season is from September to April and blends music, dance, theatre, comedy, and variety. 

No trip to Niagara Falls is complete without seeing the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show.  Full of laughs, this musical celebration of Canada will delight audiences of all ages.

For a magical experience, visit Niagara Falls’ Greg Frewin Theatre.  This family-friendly show  performed by Greg Frewin who previously performed in Las Vegas, features spectacles, illusions, showgirls, and large cats.

Speaking of spectacles, why not take in the enormous six story-high screen at the Imax Theatre?  It’s “Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic” is a 45-minute favourite feature incorporating thrilling visuals and the history of Niagara Falls. 

The Niagara Symphony, a full regional orchestra has operated for more than 60 years and incorporates classical and pop performances in their September to April schedule.  If classical is your thing, the Gallery Players of Niagara features popular chamber music selections.

Regardless of where your tastes lie, this talented region is sure to please and entertain.
