What To Do - Art Galleries & Studios

Get Inspired.

With landscapes as beautiful as those found in Niagara, it should be no surprise that we have more than our fair share of art galleries and studios. Niagara’s art destinations showcase everything from paintings and sculptures to photography and mixed media to jewellery. There are also a good number of artists who run their own galleries. Whether you are looking for something to adorn the walls of your home or simply to inspire, you can be sure that you will find it in Niagara.

Rodman Hall Art Centre is a vital exhibition space for contemporary art serving the Brock University community and the broader Niagara region.  It is dedicated to enriching lives by connecting people to art and by providing accessible and meaningful opportunities for learning.  You will see exciting exhibitions that will surprise you and make you think.  Get acquainted with artists from across Niagara, Ontario, Canada and the world.  Rodman Hall enriches lives by making meaningful connections between people and art.   Rodman Hall is a place for the whole family to engage with and learn about the world of art.  There are classes, workshops, tours and talks for all ages that bring the arts to life.   Podcasts, audio and video are available on our website, too.  Rodman Hall is home to a permanent collection of over 1,000 objects including paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture by Canadian, American and European artists from the past three centuries and a growing focus on contemporary Canadian art.  The Thomas Rodman Merritt House is situated in a beautiful park-like setting overlooking Twelve Mile Creek in St. Catharines.  Built over 150 years ago, the stately mansion features stained glass windows, patterned inlaid hardwood floors, ornate plaster mouldings and 11 extraordinary Italian marble fireplaces.   Follow meandering paths through the restored Merritt estate gardens located on the hillside behind Rodman Hall.  This tranquil spot features a collection of rare and exotic trees and plants that thrive in the Carolinian forest micro-climate.   You can also view works of sculpture as you wander around the grounds.  www.brocku.ca/rodmanhall  Facebook: rodmanhall Twitter: @RodmanHall Instagram: rodmanhallartcentre
