The house at 172 West Main Street has a great deal of history since it was built in 1914 by well-known local businessman Samuel L. Lambert. Lambert originally built this home as well as the famed Reeta Hotel and Lambert Theatre in Welland. The house was then sold to the Welland County General Hospital in 1919. In 1932, the home was converted to Sunniholme Rooms, "the home away from home", which operated as a rooming house. The house was later turned over to the Nero family in Welland. A lot of hard work has been put into the historic building to maintain its original charm while modernizing the decor to fit the market in which staff operate. The effort did not go unrecognized, as the 2007- 2010 Reader's Choice Awards recognized Elan Vitale as: Best Day Spa, (2007-2010)  Best Nail Salon, (2007-2010) and Best Beauty Salon.
